In 2026, Florence marks the sixtieth anniversary of the flood of 4 November 1966, an event that profoundly affected the city, its cultural heritage and its recent history.
As part of the “1966-2026 Firenze - 60 anni dall’Alluvione” project, promoted by the Tuscany Region, the Metropolitan City of Florence, the City of Florence and the University of Florence, the city is hosting a programme of meetings, exhibitions and events dedicated to the memory of 4 November 1966.
