9 August marks the International Day of Indigenous Peoples, established on 23 December 1994 by United Nations General Assembly Resolution No. 49/214, to promote and defend the rights of these communities around the world.
As part of the ‘Readings at the Centre’ initiative, the Social Sciences Library proposes a series of printed and digital resources dedicated to the topic, with the aim of raising awareness of the condition of indigenous peoples around the world and disseminating their knowledge.
For further information, you can consult the POPMI Fund on the 2nd floor gallery of the Social Sciences Library, which is dedicated precisely to the history and problems of linguistic minorities, indigenous peoples and stateless nations.
