On the occasion of the reopening of the La Specola Museum, Palazzo Torrigiani, Via Romana 5 - Florence,
the Science Library collaborated in setting up the exhibition
Birds on the Table
which accompanied the reopening of the Museum, which will be open to visitors in the rooms on the first floor from February 2024 until the end of September 2024.
In an open dialogue between valuable books and unique specimens of birds preserved in the Museum -and in those books very accurately depicted- the exhibition unfolds along a timeline that leads from the first treatises on birding in the 17th century to the scientific guides on ornithology of the 20th century.
