Working with the Archetypes means researching, thinking and creating works that arouse deep feelings in us that can hardly be defined by rationality. This is because the archetypes are patterns of behaviour that are part of each of us and that from afar influence our way of thinking and acting. They are therefore an ancestral genetic inheritance, handed down to us from the very beginning of human history. We have all experienced them even unconsciously, however deeply buried in what Jung calls the collective unconscious. Working with archetypes means, therefore, moving in the penumbra, manipulating an elusive and insidious matter, archaic yet pulsating, a remote yet vibrant primordial magma, like sidereal spaces. An artist who proposes to accept the implicit risk of this adventure, to collect in his own luminous and numinous abyss these fragments of eternal humanity, is perhaps faced with the ultimate reason for his own making. Approaching Luca De Silva in the best possible way means being willing to question oneself, to "inconvenience" oneself and venture into territories that also concern ourselves, giving us the chance to come across an opportunity rather than a confirmation.
