To mark World Day Against Cruelty to Animals (12 August 2026), ‘Readings at the Centre’ is offering an in-depth exploration of the issue of cruelty to animals and solutions for their ethical management in an anthropised environment, aimed at the welfare of all non-human sentient species.
The recommended reading list will be available from 4 August until early September on the ground floor, opposite the circulation desk, and in the dedicated area on the first floor, in accordance with the Library’s reduced summer opening hours: Mon–Wed–Fri 8.30 am–1.30 pm, Tue–Thu 8.30 am–5.00 pm.
