As part of the University of Florence’s “Percorsi di Pace" series, the exhibition Beyond War: Hoping for a Rebirth presents a selection of black-and-white photographs from the ANMIG archive in Florence, accompanied by documentary materials and objects related to the images.
The exhibition explores the history of the Association—founded in 1917 to support war-wounded and disabled veterans—but also gives a broader overview of Italian and Florentine society.
The images shows the Association’s shift from wartime origins to active civic advocacy. By educating new generations on the lessons of the past, the Association promotes a future built on non-violence and the consolidation of peace.
