On the centenary of Italo Calvino's birth, the Library of Technological Sciences - Architecture is organising, as part of the Archistorie della biblioteca cycle of events, the bio-bibliographic exhibition Nel segno di Calvino (In the sign of Calvino), in memory of the writer.
The exhibition proposes an unusual journey of knowledge of the writer through books, magazines, films, period postcards, and materials conserved in the Library's archival collections that tell of Calvino as a describer and frequenter of landscapes, spaces and cities, real and imaginary, Calvino as a man in his own places, Calvino as an inspirer of architectural narratives.
The exhibition is completed by a documentary section of materials from the University of Florence's Historical Archive, in memory of the university years spent here.
The cycle of meetings Le Archistorie della biblioteca: presentazione di libri, esperienze, progetti... was created as a link and acknowledgement of Luca De Silva's teaching and activity and is intended to be its ideal continuation.
