The Humanities Library, in collaboration with the Associazione Nazionale Mutilati e Invalidi di Guerra and the Confraternita di S. Antonio Abate is organising an exhibition and a series of guided tours dedicated to the rich history of the Brunelleschi complex
From Santa Maria degli Angeli to the Brunelleschi Project for the Great Library: a long humanist tradition
Exhibition of documents, images and books
15th June – 28th October
Main Hall, Humanities Library, Piazza Brunelleschi 4
The exhibition traces the architectural, artistic and cultural history of the Brunelleschi complex from its 13th-century foundation to the present day, with a glance at the future scenario by the Brunelleschi Project for the Humanities Library.
The exhibition itinerary largely summarises the results of the most recent research on the complex, collected in the volume Santa Maria degli Angeli a Firenze. Da monastero camaldolese a biblioteca umanistica (edited by Cristina De Benedictis, Carla Milloschi and Guido Tigler, Nardini Editore, 2022).
The exhibition will be open to the public during library opening hours.
The exhibition will be combined with a series of guided tours of the main architectural and artistic sites of the Santa Maria degli Angeli complex, where now the Library, the Associazione Nazionale Mutilati e Invalidi di Guerra and the Confraternita di S. Antonio Abate live together.
