Virtual Exhibition on Florence's 1966 flood on the 50th anniversary

The virtual exhibition Beauty Preserved presents the homonym exhibition dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the flood, "Beauty Preserved" Florence 1966 -2016 set up from 30 November 2016 to 3 March 2017 at Palazzo Medici Riccardi, where, in 1966, the Medici Museum had its headquarters and was flooded and devastated by the water.

The Exhibition was promoted by the Florence 2016 Committee, coordinated by Giorgio Valentino Federici and curated by Cristina Acidini and Elena Capretti.

The sections of the virtual exhibition reflect the realization of the real one, and thanks to the images and texts of the print catalog, they offer a selection of works and artefacts from places - museums, collections, libraries, archives, places of worship - among the most affected by the tragic event.

The exhibition is presented at the conference "The 50th of the 1966 flood in Florence. A different anniversary", which will be held on Tuesday 31st October in the Aula Magna of the University of Florence (9 am - Piazza San Marco 4) and promoted by the Florence 2016 Committee.
