It is an integral part of the Library System and stems from the project Firenze 2016 promoted by the University of Florence. CEDAF is dedicated to research, retrieval and processing of bibliographic and documentary information concerning the Flood of Florence of 1966 and related issues.
The creation of a dedicated room inside the Humanities Library completes the activation of the official website, to better fulfill the aims of the Center, which was born also to testify the activities carried out by the Toscana Firenze 2016 Project Committee starting from 2013 and in which over a hundred institutions and associations have joined; some of these are now part of the CEDAF Scientific Committee.
It is now finally possible to document in an effective manner for the benefit of national and international researchers and the population an event so significant for the city of Florence and in general to provide a memory of past events indispensable for prevention and protection activities against hydraulic risk. The inauguration will be attended by representatives of the Institutions that collaborate with the CEDAF and the program of activities of the Center for the next two-year period of 2019-2020 will be presented.
