CEDAF restarts

The activity of the Documentation Centre on Florence Floods has resumed after the interruption due to the pandemic emergency.

CEDAF restarts

The Scientific Committee and the Technical Management Committee, of CEDAF Governance, have been renewed.

The registration request form in the Mud Angels Official List has been updated.

348 volumes relating to the topics dealt with by CEDAF were purchased, and the book collection was reorganised.

A new page has been created on the website where articles and documents on the Center and its activities are presented.

Three students of a Master in Communication from the University of Aarhus (DK) visited CEDAF for a study on the communication of the 1966 flood event, particularly in the international media. Their work is published on the CEDAF website: Claire Marie Roney, Edoardo Anziano e María Elorza Saralegui, “Mud angels, mobilisation and the media. How national and international print papers framed the 1966 Florence flood”.

An article on the CEDAF activities has been published in the journal "Culture digitali" (n. 7, October-December 2022): Walter Scancarello, "A Center and a portal dedicated to the 1966 Florence flood and the climate emergency".

In 2022, the ANVUR (National Agency for the Evaluation of the University and Research System) in the context of the Evaluation of Research Quality (VQR) 2015-2019 evaluated as “Excellent” the "Toscana Firenze 2016" Project, developed by our University on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Florence flood and in the context of which CEDAF was established, emphasizing its value in the context of the Third Mission. The report submitted to the evaluation is published on the CEDAF website.
