Due to the Covid-19 emergency, the libraries of the University of Florence had to suspend all scheduled in-person courses, but user training initiatives on the tools and methods of bibliographic research (information literacy) did not stop and continue online.
These activities are carried out not only through consolidated tools such as the Moodle e-learning platform but also through the activation of new channels, such as video conferencing classes with Meet.
The entire range of educational offerings in libraries can be consulted on the courses page, which has been completely renovated just recently. The Guides and tutorials page has also been updated and enriched, and there it is possible to view both the guides created by the University libraries and those made available by publishers and other organizations on the following
- OneSearch online search and services
- Main databases search
- Citation and bibliography management websites
- Tools for research evaluation.
This is a work in progress which, together with the online information service Ask a librarian and the reference sessions in chat and video chat, aims to guarantee, albeit at a distance, continuous and qualified assistance in the use of the services and resources of the University Library System.
