The author is known for her children's books and has received numerous and important awards.
In order to prepare this book on the Mud Angels and to access a wide range of documentation, Greenwald turned to CEDAF (Documentation Centre on Florence Floods) which was established in 2017 at the Humanities Library of the University of Florence and which collects paper and digital documentation (including the Mud Angels Official List), videos, interviews, recordings of events and exhibitions, bibliographic indications on floods, with particular attention, but not only, on the 1966's flood.
The author was also able to take advantage of the helpfulness of Dr. Alessandro Sidoti and Prof. Giorgio Federici, members of CEDAF.
